Sun To Host Pride Night On July 13

American Idol Finalist Ada Vox to Perform at Halftime

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (June 11, 2018) — The Connecticut Sun will celebrate diversity and equality with Pride Night on July 13th when the Phoenix Mercury visit Mohegan Sun Arena at 7 p.m.

The Hartford Gay Men’s Choir will perform the national anthem prior to the game. Ada Vox, a Top 8 finalist on American Idol this past season, will perform at halftime. A Texas native, Vox is the first drag queen to advance to the Top 8 in any season of the competition.

Postgame, fans will have the opportunity to hear from a panel pertaining to LGBTQ issues with Sun head coach and general manager Curt Miller, Sun guard Courtney Williams, Mercury forward Brittney Griner and former NFL player and inclusion specialist Wade Davis. The panel will be moderated by espnW writer Katie Barnes.

Sun fans will have the opportunity to celebrate pride in a variety of ways through special ticket packages. The postgame pool party will feature appearances by members of the Sun roster as well as Vox. All will be available for photos and autographs at the exclusive event.
