Sun Open Training Camp

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (April 25, 2016) — The Connecticut Sun opened its 14th training camp on Monday.

Among the participants in this year’s camp under new head coach Curt Miller are returning players Kelsey Bone, Kelly Faris, Chiney Ogwumike, Shekinna Stricklen, Alyssa Thomas and Jasmine Thomas. Joining them are draftees Rachel Banham, Aliyyah Handford, Jonquel Jones, Morgan Tuck and Jamie Weisner.

Also attending camp are free agent signees Heather Butler, Victoria Macaulay and Jennifer O’Neill.

Overseas commitments have delayed the arrival of veterans Alex Bentley and Camille Little along with Aneika Henry.

The Sun will open the preseason by hosting a two-day preseason event involving the Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky and San Antonio Stars on May 4th and 5th at Mohegan Sun Arena. On May 4th, the Dream will face San Antonio at 5 p.m. while the Sun meet Chicago at 7 p.m. On May 5th, Atlanta plays Chicago at 5 p.m. while the Stars tip off against Connecticut at 7 p.m. The Sun close out the preseason on the road against the Dallas Wings on May 8th.

Connecticut opens the 2016 regular season in Chicago on May 14th. The Sun play their first home game on May 21st at Mohegan Sun Arena, hosting the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting connecticutsun.com or calling 877-SUN-TIXX.
