Sun Announce Home Playoff Dates

Uncasville – Complete seeding for WNBA Playoffs 2017 presented by Verizon must still be determined, but the Connecticut Sun now has dates for a possible home game.

Depending upon where it finishes in the overall WNBA standings, Connecticut will host a playoff game at Mohegan Sun Arena on September 7th, 10th or 12th.

At 19-10, the Sun have the third best record in the WNBA. Connecticut locked up at least one home playoff game with the win over Phoenix Sunday, and cannot fall below a No. 6 seed.

Under the current WNBA format, eight teams qualify for the postseason. Teams finishing fifth through eighth will play a single-elimination game in the first round, with the five and six seeds hosting.. The Sun would play a first round game on September 7th.

If the Sun finish third or fourth, they would earn a first-round bye and host a single-elimination game in the second round on September 10th.

Should the Sun finish as one of the top two teams in the WNBA, it would receive two byes, and host the first game of a best-of-five semifinal series on September 12th.
