This past week was a pretty exciting one! I had the opportunity to go to Denmark to visit one of my best friends. Since I can’t play overseas I thought it’d be great to live through some of my friends that are playing overseas.
While in Denmark I was able to watch a few basketball games and explore to see some of the things Denmark has to offer. My favorite part of the trip was when we went to Copenhagen and went to Tivoli Gardens. Tivoli Gardens is an amusement park. The amusement park was filled with Christmas decorations and little shops. We didn’t go on any rides but walking around and explored some shops to see what they had.
The only negative part of the trip was the fact that I kept getting parking tickets. Every time we parked, the signs were in Danish. If you didn’t know, I don’t speak Danish. So after the second ticket we finally figured out what we were doing wrong! But, besides the tickets I had a great time in Denmark. The people were super helpful and nice my whole visit.
I also had a little insight into what overseas life is like and how sometimes time differences can be inconvenient. One of the days that I was in Denmark, the UConn Women’s Basketball team played at Notre Dame. I didn’t care how late it was, I was not going to miss that game! Overall, I had a fantastic time in Denmark and I’m sure I’ll make my way back in the future.
