The week started with three big EuroLeague wins for the Sun on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
UMMC opened up the day with a massive 112-37 victory over Cukurova. In 16 minutes of action, Jonquel Jones posted 15 points, went 6-of-8 from the field, grabbed eight rebounds and added three assists.
DeWanna Bonner and Dynamo Kursk grabbed a close win over Arka Gdynia. Bonner led the team with 24 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line in the 64-58 win.
In the third game of the day for Sun players, USK Praha defeated Castors Braine, 89-65. Bri Jones led all scorers with 21 points and 13 rebounds. She also chipped in two assists, two steals and one block. Alyssa Thomas recorded 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal on the evening.
Jasmine Thomas fought in a close battle with Gorzow against Artego Bydogoszcz, but unfortunately fell 84-82. Thomas posted 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had a hand in three baskets.
Lulea competed in its only game of the week against Hogsbo on Saturday, Feb. 29. Lulea and Natisha Hiedeman walked away with a huge 100-67 victory over Hogsbo.
Briann January of Sopron, faced Miskolc and came up with a 95-91 win. Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis competed for Promete in Spain against Gipuzkoa but was defeated 77-69.
