The accolades for the Connecticut Sun continue to roll in overseas.
Courtney Williams remains a dominant force for Izmit in the Turkish KBSL. Williams was named MVP of the Week after posting a monster double-double. The point guard posted 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in her team’s 79-66 win over Hatay. Izmit is currently in sixth place in the Turkish KBSL. Williams is also fourth in the league in points (23.9) third in rebounds (9.8) and eighth in assists (5.1).
EuroLeague kicked off on Tuesday with a game between USK Praha and Nadezhda. USK walked away with an 86-67 victory, which improved their record to 10-2 overall. Bri Jones scored a team high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting and six rebounds. Teammate Alyssa Thomas chipped in 18 points and let all players with 19 rebounds.
Later in the day, Jonquel Jones and UMMC Ekaterinburg defeated TTT Riga, 87-67. UMMC remains in No. 1 in EuroLeague play with an 11-1 record. Jones recorded seven points, five rebounds, two assist, two steals and one block on the day.
In Polish competition, Gorzow came up victorious against Wisla Can-Pack, 77-65. Jasmine Thomas tallied 14 points, five rebounds and one assist.
