Shekinna Stricklen had 16 points, including four threes, as second-place Fenerbahce of Turkey pulled out a 71-63 win over third-place USK Praha in a EuroBasket Group A matchup. Stricklen is averaging 9.3 points, and she has made 20 of 49 threes in EuroBasket competition.
Also in Turkey, Courtney Williams (11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists) had a double-double last Sunday, collecting 11 points and 10 rebounds for Girne Universitesi in a 74-69 loss to Mersin MBK.
Elsewhere in Turkey, Alex Bentley (18.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists) had 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals for sixth-place Adana ASKI Mersin (8-9), which dropped a 61-60 decision to Abdullah Gul (12-4) in Kayseri on Saturday.
In Israel, Jasmine Thomas (13.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists) had another big game, collecting 17 points, nine assists, six rebounds and three steals for fourth-place Ramat Hasharon (7-7), which was looking for its fifth straight win. Instead, second-place Maccabi Ashdod pulled out a 77-70 win.
Also in Israel, Kelly Faris had 23 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals as Bnot Hertzeliya routed Hap.Petah Tivka 83-58. Bnot Hertzeliya (11-5) is in third place in the Israeli League.
In South Korea, Jonquel Jones is averaging 16 points and 12.8 rebounds for Woori Bank (28-2), which continued to dominate the league, rolling to wins of 78-58 over S Birds on Friday and 85-72 over Blue Minx on Wednesday.
In Australia, Jennifer Hamson had 16 points and 14 rebounds as first-place Sydney (17-6) pulled out an 81-77 win over third-place Dandenong (14-9) Saturday. Hamson is averaging 11.4 points and 8.6 rebounds while Taylor is averaging 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and three assists.
Thursday in Russia, Alba Torrens had eight points and three rebounds for UMMC Ekaterinburg (12-1), an 88-81 winner over Nadezhda Orenburg (9-4) in Euroleague Group B play.
In Italy last Sunday night, Kayla Pedersen (8.8 points, 6.8 rebounds) had seven points with four rebounds for Lucca (15-2), which saw a 15-game winning streak end against host Venezia (14-2).
