Uncasville, CT (March 21, 2023) – Natisha Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod fell to Elitzur Ramla, 89-72, on Monday, March 13. Hiedeman led her team in the effort with 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal. On Thursday, March 16, Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod dropped a match up against Hapoel Rishon LeZion, 89-84. Hiedeman finished with 17 points five rebounds, six assists and one steal in the loss. On Monday, March 20, Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod were back the win column, against Ramat Hasharon, 88-67. Hiedeman tallied 15 points, three rebounds, six assist and one steal in the decisive victory.
Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Prague took home a 77-56 victory against Perfumerias Avenida in Game 1 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals series on Tuesday, March 14. Jones led the way with a double-double, notching 18 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Thomas added 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in the win. On Friday, March 17, Jones, Thomas and USK Prague fell to Perfumerias Avenida, 73-71, in Game 2 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals series. Jones led her team with 23 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and two steals. Thomas also finished with a double-double, notching 21 points, 17 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in the effort. The best-of-three series is currently tied 1-1.
Tiffany Hayes and CBK Mersin defeated Bourges in Game 1 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals series on Tuesday, March 14. Hayes led the team in scoring, tallying 19 points, two rebounds and four assists in the win. On Friday, March 17, Hayes and CBK Mersin fell to Bourges in Game 2 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals series, 76-75. Hayes led all scorers with 26 points, three rebounds, six assists and one steal in the game. The best-of-three series is currently tied 1-1.
Lauren Cox and Valencia fell to Schio in Game 1 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals series, 75-63, on Wednesday, March 14. Cox finished with 14 points, four rebounds, one assist and two steals in the game. On Friday, March 17, Cox and Valencia defeated Schio in Game 2 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals series, 80-75. Cox tallied 14 points, five rebounds and one assist in the win. The best-of-three series is currently tied 1-1. On Sunday, March 19, Cox and Valencia defeated Spanish League opponent, Bembibre, 71-54. Cox contributed 11 points, four rebounds, one assist and two blocks in the victory.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa and the Melbourne Boomers dropped Game 3 of the WNBL Semifinal series to Southside, 73-72, on Wednesday, March 15. Nelson-Ododa tallied six points, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the hard-fought effort. With the loss, the Melbourne Boomers lose the series 2-1 and end their WNBL season with a record of 15-6.
Victoria Macaulay and Botas defeated Turkish League foe, Botas, 88-82, in overtime on Friday, March 17. Macaulay finished with a double-double, tallying 14 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in the win.
Nirra Fields and Emlak Konut fell to Turkish League opponent, Galatasaray, 90-68, on Saturday, March 18. Fields led her team in the effort with 21 points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Mikiah Herbert Harrigan and the London Lions defeated the Essex Rebels, 92-33, on Sunday, March 19 in WBBL play. Herbert Harrigan led the way for her squad, finishing with 18 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal in the victory.
Connecticut Sun players are back in overseas action this week beginning with Hayes and CBK Mersin taking on Bourges at 12:00 PM ET; Jones, Thomas and USK Prague playing Perfumerias Avenida at 2:00 PM ET; and Cox and Valencia matching up against Schio at 3:00 PM ET on March 22.
