Season Highlights: 

Coming off her rookie campaign in 2021, DiJonai Carrington elevated her game and made a big impact with the Sun in 2022. The guard-forward averaged a career-best 6.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 17.5 minutes per game. This season, Carrington tallied a career-high 18 points against New York (7/19), eight rebounds against Los Angeles (8/9) and four assists against Chicago (8/7). During the Sun’s postseason run, the San Diego native recorded her first playoff stats, finishing the year with 71 points, 32 rebounds, nine assists, 12 steals and two blocks over 12 games. 

Most Notable Performances: 

  • July 19: Carrington dropped a career-high 18 points in an 82-63 win over the New York Liberty. 
  • August 9: In a 97-71 road victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, Carrington grabbed a career-high eight rebounds.  
  • August 18: Carrington notched her first career-playoff points, rebounds and steals in Game 1 of the opening round of the playoffs against the Dallas Wings, finishing with 13 points, six rebounds and two steals.
