Sun Waive Cowling, Cave

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (May 3, 2018) — The Connecticut Sun announced today that Khadijiah Cave and Mikayla Cowling have been waived.

Cave was signed to a training camp contract on April 23 after playing in Switzerland, where she averaged 26 points and 21.6 rebounds per game for Esperance Sportive Pully. A 6-foot-3 forward out of Baylor, she was waived by Los Angeles during training camp in 2017.

Cowling was selected in the third round of the 2018 WNBA Draft with the 33rd overall pick by the Sun. The 6-2 forward was one of only four players in Cal women’s basketball history to collect 1,000 points and 400 assists.

The Connecticut Sun will tip off its 16th season in the state by leading off #WNBAAllDay on Sunday, May 20 at 1 p.m. A 21-win playoff team in 2017, the Sun will look to start fast, taking on the Las Vegas Aces (formerly the San Antonio Stars) as the first game on a day in which all 12 WNBA teams will be in action for the very first time.

Season tickets for 2018 start as low as $22 per game and are available now.
