Sun Visit Norwich Rec

Members of the Connecticut Sun visited the Robert W. Spayne basketball courts in Norwich, Conn., for an Operation Orange event on Monday afternoon.

Approximately 80 children from the Norwich Recreation Department’s summer camp were on hand to help Sun players stencil the WNBA logo with orange chalk on three different courts. The players and children, who ranged in age from 5 to 12 years old, divided into three groups. They decorated the courts and signed their names.

New orange nets, supplied by the Connecticut Sun, were hung at each of the three courts where the event took place. The other nine recreation basketball courts in Norwich also have new orange nets donated by the Sun.

This event was originally scheduled for June 1, but was postponed due to rain.
