Sun Top Sparks

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (May 3, 2017) – The Connecticut Sun won their second preseason game of the year on Wednesday night at Mohegan Sun Arena, defeating the Los Angeles Sparks 79-62.

Once again, forward Danielle Adams was the standout among players battling for a spot on the Sun roster, bringing the crowd to life by going 5-for-5 from three-point range in the first half. One night after leading the Sun with 12 points, she finished with a game-high 17.

Rookie guard Jessica January hit a pair of three-pointers, finishing with eight points and three rebounds. Fellow rookie Brionna Jones had five points and five rebounds.

Among the starters, forward Alyssa Thomas led the way with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting in 15 minutes. In two preseason games, Thomas is 9-of-14 from the field

The Sun close out the preseason on Sunday at New York against the Liberty. Tip-off at Columbia University is set for 3 p.m.
