Sun Host Military Appreciation Night

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (July 1, 2015) – In conjunction with WNBA Hoops For Troops, the Connecticut Sun will celebrate Military Appreciation Night during the game Thursday night against the defending Eastern Conference Champion Chicago Sky at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The highlight of the evening will be a halftime swearing-in ceremony involving approximately 80 men and women who will take the oath of enlistment, administered by Commander Kurt E. Stronach, Executive Officer of Naval Submarine Base New London, in Groton. These men and women will be serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

The Mohegan Veterans Association Honor Guard will present the colors before the game, which begins at 7 p.m. The first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive a special flag bandana when they arrive at the game.
