A few players, such as Shekinna Stricklen, Alyssa Thomas and Jonquel Jones are overseas, but their leagues do not begin play until the end of the month.
In Israel, Morgan Tuck will be playing for Elitzur Maclaren Holon. League play is scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 16th.
In her first season overseas in Australia, Sun guard Rachel Banham is averaging nine points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists through two games for the Bendigo Spirit. She had eight points, three steals, and a rebound in Friday’s 90-63 loss to Melbourne.
Also in Australia, Courtney Williams is averaging a team-high 25.5 points, eight rebounds, and 2.5 assists in two games for the Perth Lynx. She posted 25 points, four rebounds, three steals and an assist in Thursday’s 87-81 loss to the Adelaide Lightning.
Sun forward Kayla Pedersen is in Australia as well, playing for the Dandenong Rangers. In the season-opener on October 5th, she recorded a double-double with 10 points and a team-high 11 rebounds in a 76-61 loss to Melbourne.
In Turkey, veteran Jasmine Thomas is spending the offseason playing for OGM Orman. In the season opener on October 7th, she led the team with 23 points, four assists, three steals and a rebound in an 83-65 loss to Fenerbahce.
Sun forward Brionna Jones is spending her first overseas season in Russia for Nadezhda Orenburg.
In the Czech Republic, Sun draft pick Leticia Romero is averaging 9.6 points, seven assists, 3.8 steals and 3.2 rebounds through five games for USK Praha. She posted 12 points, a team-high eight assists, three rebounds and three steals in a 127-32 win over Loko Trutnov on October 8th. In USK Praha’s Euroleague opener, Romero had four points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 64-61 win over Bourges.
