Collecting A New Hobby In China

During my “offseason” this year I had the opportunity to play in China. It was a great experience and I had a blast while I was there playing for Shaanxi Tianze.

When I was not playing, I had some time to go explore and see what China had to offer. One of my favorite things to do was to go to street markets. You could literally find anything you could think of at these markets. There were also a lot of things I would never have thought of, but were things I felt like I had to have!

Going to these markets made me realize I wanted to start collecting things I felt had history or were just unique. During my travels throughout China, I got a sword, another sword-like blade thing (I don’t know what it’s actually called), a picture of the Bell Tower in Xian made of sand, and three pieces of art that look like paintings of flowers but are actually sewn instead.

Every year I play overseas, I plan on adding to my small collection!
