Fans Encouraged To Donate In Support Of Favorite Mascot
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (March 9, 2017) – The Connecticut Sun and New England Black Wolves will send their mascots, Blaze and Hunter, “over the edge” for MARC Community Resources when they rappel from the State House Square building in Hartford as part of a fundraising event on April 29th at 3 p.m.
“The New England Black Wolves and Connecticut Sun are honored to be involved in this amazing event, which will do so much to help raise awareness and funds for MARC Community Resources and its mission,” Black Wolves and Sun Vice President Amber Cox said. “We are committed to making our community a better place to live, and this is a great way to do that while also having some fun. I know our fans will get behind their favorite mascot in support of this cause.”
In partnership with Over the Edge USA, MARC Community Resources is raising critical funds in support of programs and services that empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to realize their dreams and make choices about their lives, including housing, employment and social/recreational activities.
Over the Edge participants, known as “edgers” raise a minimum pledge of $1,000 and have the exhilarating opportunity to rappel over the edge of the State House Square building. Blaze and Hunter will be competing to see who raises the biggest donation, and fans of each team can help their favorite mascot. To support Hunter’s fundraising effort, visit http://bit.ly/2niD7b4.
